Ph.D. and Joint Master/Ph.D. student positions are available at the Division of Bioengineering, Incheon National University, South Korea.

Nano-biopolymer synthesis group, led by Prof. Min Suk Shim of Division of Bioengineering, is looking for highly-motivated Ph.D. students to join in Spring 2020 under full financial support [full scholarship plus a stipend ($750/month), dormitory is available]. We are not recruiting the applicants who want to apply for Master program only.

Application deadline for Spring 2020 is Nov. 30th, 2019.

We are interested broadly in the development of nanobiomaterials for biomedical applications. Particularly, we have been focused on the development of stimuli-responsive nanomaterials for gene/drug delivery and tissue engineering, and have consistently been publishing in the high quality journals, including Angewandte Chem, Biomaterials, Advanced Functional Materials, Small, etc.

Research experience on organic synthesis, polymer synthesis, cell culture work would be a plus, but are not required. However, motivation and enthusiasm towards research is required.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science (or Master degree) in the area of Bioengineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical engineering or any-related areas.

- GPA [3.0 (B0 grade) or higher on a 4.5 scale]

- Applicants should have good English communication skill

- Should meet one of them

1) Certificate of Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK): TOPIK Level 4 or higher.

2) Certificate of English Proficiency Test: TOEFL [PBT (550 or higher), CBT(210 or higher), IBT(80 or higher)], IELTS(5.5), TOEIC(700 or higher).
