The Department of Electronic Systems (IES) at NTNU has a vacancy for a PhD Candidate in Vocal Biomarkers. The successful candidate will join the Acoustics group to contribute to an emerging field that uses measurable features of the voice to detect, monitor, and follow up health conditions non-invasively. You will work at the intersection of acoustics and signal processing, building a sought-after profile spanning acoustics, physical modeling, and clinical application.

Eligibility

  • Must hold a relevant Master's degree in acoustics, signal processing, physics, mathematics, computer science, or another technical/quantitative discipline. (Master's students can apply, but the degree must be obtained before starting).
  • Education must correspond to a five-year Norwegian degree program (120 credits at the Master's level).
  • Solid background in mathematics or physics, and good programming skills (e.g., Python or MATLAB).
  • Strong academic background with an average grade equal to B or better (on NTNU's grading scale) from the Master's degree.
  • Good oral and written English skills.

  • Transcripts and diplomas for Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
  • Copy of Master's thesis (or a draft if recently submitted).
