The Warsaw University of Life Sciences also known as  Szkoła Główna Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego, SGGW in Polish is the largest agricultural university in Poland. The university was established in 1816 in Warsaw and currently employs over 2,600 staff including over 1,200 academic educators. The University is since 2005 a member of the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) which was established in 2001. WULS-SGGW is among the premier Polish institutions of higher education.

The campus is located is the southernmost district of Warsaw, Ursynów and boosts of its historic part, with an 18th century palace, and a contemporary part where most of the faculty buildings and dormitories are situated. Students enjoy the 70-hectare main campus and are housed in the 12 dormitories and learn within the latest facilities including modern, well equipped research laboratories, rich and fully computerized Main Library, over 50 computer laboratories with Internet access, an indoor swimming pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a weight room, a veterinary clinic, an indoor equestrian facility and many other facilities.

Selected applicants will receive the following benefits

  • A stipend worth 19500 PLN worth 4960 USD amounting to 1500 PLN or 380 USD per month for  13 months
  • Participants in the program will gain competences and qualifications required by employers and necessary to find employment consistent with education,
  • You will get the opportunity to familiarize with the latest trends and solutions used worldwide in general horticulture disciplines
  • Participants will have the opportunity of joining international society of the horticulture branch to make contacts which thanks to acquisition of  specialist terminology can lead to employment in foreign  companies,
  • Through out the program, you will gaining experience in cooperation with students of different origins and backgrounds.

Eligibility
The project can be participated by students fulfill the following application conditions

  • You must have graduated from the first cycle studies and hold a bachelors degree in the field of Horticulture and Plant Agriculture
  • Applicants may as well have graduated from other horticultural, agricultural, and plant base studies
  • If you have graduated from other studies, you will need to have an interview in order to confirm the effects of teaching and positively complete the recruitment process to be qualified to take part in the project,
  • The language of instruction is English, therefore applicants will have to present a language certificate at level B2 Common European language description system or passed English exam from first cycle studies,
  • All applicants will have to sign a declaration of participation in the project.

Application
Applicants are required to register and submit the necessary documents the provided website below. Once you start the registration process, you will have to choose second level of studies and “full time – Horticulture, general horticulture – study in English” are your selected program to apply to. You will asl well be required to submit the necessary recruitment documents for studies, start with the documents confirming your graduation, and remember to confirm your language skills at least B2.

Once the application and selection process is complete, applicants who will be admitted to studies will be able to take part in the next recruitment to participate in the project financed by the European Union (scholarship while studying, help in finding a job for those interested, summer school, etc.)
