The University of the Sunshine Coast is a public university at Sippy Downs, Sunshine Coast which is about 60 miles north from Brisbane City. It is a multi-campus university with five other campuses in different parts of northern Queensland. And the score is going to be six by 2020 with another campus on Moreton Bay. Details

Human Genomics Ph.D. Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for students to start their Ph.D. studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast. It is an opportunity for students to interact and work in a discipline like molecular biology, genetics, computer science, and statistics.

Eligibility

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for this program

  • You must be commencing full-time Ph.D. studies by research and additionally, you must have a master’s degree in biological, physical or computational sciences. However, you must have knowledge about genetics, evolution and molecular biology if you are not from a biology background. However, your Bachelors’s Degree must be with First Class Honours, Masters degree with thesis/research or equivalent previous study.
  • In addition to that, relevant work experience, research publications, or other research experience.
  • Also, you must have Knowledge about software and tools used in next-generation sequence data analyses. Similarly, you must be familiar with Unix/Linux, Scripting, and use of High performing cluster
  • Furthermore, you must have a record of research publications and professional research experiences.

Scholarship Value

Human Genomics Ph.D. Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship. It covers the living expenses as well as waives the tuition cost of a recipient international student. In addition to that, the scholarship covers other expenses like health insurance, program-related travel costs, etc of the international student. The overall value of the scholarship is equal to $27,082.
